It will show you a map of where the photo was taken and offer to show more photos taken nearby. If people are in the photo (and have been identified) it will tell you who they are and offer more pictures of them. IOS 10 has expanded photo details that you can view simply by swiping up on a photo or tapping the Details button in the upper right. It’s rather inexplicable that even with the latest release of iOS, iOS 13, there’s still no ‘view info’ sort of feature in the Photos app, though your iPhone is definitely saving quite a bit of associated information every time you capture an image or record a video sequence. To see where the photo was taken, tap the Map button. You’ll immediately see an overview of the photos information. Select an image in iPhoto, then tap the Info icon (it resembles the letter i) at the top of the screen. Tap a numbered bubble icon to view your photos from that region. You’ll see a map of all the places you’ve been and the number of photos you’ve taken there (provided you had GPS location tagging enabled on your device). Tap the map icon at the bottom of the app home screen. You can also sort and view your photos by location. Toggle Allow Untrusted Shortcuts to the On position. Photos with GPS coordinates have a globe icon displayed in the upper right corner of the image. Tap an album to view its contents, and then select a photo for which you’d like to see metadata. Luckily, iOS 13 makes it easy to wipe the geotag from images and videos before sharing. This metadata makes it easier for Photos to organize your media, but put these photos and videos in the wrong hands and anyone can find out where you live or work.
